Just a return and report. Exmo husband and I saw the musical in Omaha Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is never a slow moment and the songs are 'right on'. My favorite song has been Turn it Off. I think that defines being a Mormon best. The cast for that night was excellent. I would love to see it again.

Exno husband wore his missionary nametag as penance.

My nevermo--never even close-- daughter and teen granddaughters loved it too.

I just saw it recently too after years of jealousy when other posters would say it was in their town and how great it was.

I had really hyped it up yet it was even better than I expected! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face almost the entire show and in the pics my friend and I took I had crazy eyes in every pic because I was so excited. Picture the look the TBM men would have if they were suddenly told masturbation and porn was openly ok, that is pretty much how I looked.

Is LDS Inc. still putting those full page ads in the playbill? We saw it last November at the Pantages in Hollywood. LOVED it. There are 3 full color, full page ads in the playbill. Best that cost a pretty penny.

Glad you got to see it.

How clueless is the LDS church that they think this play calls attention to the church in a good way? Are they holding to the idea that any publicity is good publicity? Is this just their idea of damage control? It just made us laugh in disbelief.

Big smiling faces...a white man with a beard: "I've read the book"

A woman saying "The book is always better"

and A black man saying "You've seen the play... now read the book"

AS IF the play was based on the book. Haha

a relative from NYC love it, kept giggling and asked me, "do they know they're being made fun of?!?"

I couldn't believe the ads in the program either. All I could think was that the Mormons figure this fits into the category of "The lord works in mysterious ways."

The ads sort of come off as satire.

All I will say is that the night I went I have never heard such laughter in my life, and it was obvious a large amount to the audience had seen it before and were back for seconds.

I noticed that people who hold season tickets to our Orpheum Theater get tickets to the 6 highest rated shows for the season. They can trade tickets for a different play or for another ticket to the same play.

However, there was a caveat this year that you can trade out of Book of Mormon but you can't trade into it (trade a ticket for a second ticket to BOM) due to high expected demand for tickets. I've never seen that before and I follow what's going on there because we often like to get tickets to a show at a time. I'm, of course, hoping to get tickets for BOM and several of my friends who are season ticket holders have asked me if I am. Not sure when they go on sale to the general public. One couple said that if we get tickets we'll all have to go out for a drink afterward, at a fun place on Beale Street, so they can pick my brain.

No, the play is NOT helpful to the church. It is satire about all the kooky things in Mormonism and sheds light on just how much nonsense it really is.
