A litle O/T - Shaming young victims to keep them quiet

This story is in the headlines this morning:

It reminded me of Specter Kimball's statement that he would rather his daughter die fighting an assailant than live with the shame of losing her chastity.

This is an area that hits close to home for me. My motherhas terrorized my older sister for decades for being attractive to boys, making her feel like a whore, like she was "asking for it" if she was ever "immodest."

Patriarchy blames the victim of rape, and has for centuries.
