They may not provide the bullets, but they do give people a gun of relf-righteousness, intolerance, and delusion with which people can attempt to enforce their opinions upon others.

I find it interesting that I am not political, religious, or conservative but I'm the bad guy to many Mormons because I won't take hardline on the existence of god, a black and white definition of morality, and feign shock and dismay at what the world is becoming.

Now many of these people aren't so narrow minded that they abuse me explicitly with their self-righteousness. But there are a few with CTR rings around their heads and it is mind boggling that they can't see how their own biases and refusals to have empathy for other less "righteous" people doesn't fit the Golden Rule.

If they wanted to be brow beaten by others until they conformed to beliefs they didn't hold and to support policies and behaviors they didn't like, then maybe they are following that rule. I personally think LDS Inc. walks a fine line. They want to appear supporters of things like the Golden Rule at the same time they want blind and ignorant followers as made crystal clear in statements like "doubt your doubts" and their refusal to stop with Urim and Thummiming their Book of Mormon mythologies.

They like being something so opposite a "Holy Order" of socialistic theological enlightenment that it leads me to believe that their love affair with their patrimony and patriarchy is so all inclusive to their world view as to require them to avoid talking about and explicitly ignoring their own and others abuses of their power over other people.

I have only daughters. I have experienced both sides of Mormon endoctrination of women - as a father and as a son and brother.

I think LDS Inc. knows that the only way for its patriarchy to survive is to create a cult within a cult - the cult of motherhood.

I've talked to lots of young Mormon girls who associated with my kids. They get conflicting messages - their church glorifies their biology and their educators glorify their mental abilities.

Our Mormon neighbor's girls think the coolest thing in the world is to become a mom. It is often hard to counteract this encouragement by attempting to make sure this is what my own girls want in life.

They are more than mere vessels for Elohim's many children fathered by many wives regardless of how many stripling warriors for Joe Smith they can produce.
