Also, sidenote,we do not believe in displaying images of Jesus/God,however when it comes to the 'Prophets'...

Funny thing, one would like God would ware "his choosen people" about the dangers of junk food via his Pepsi-guzzling prophet?

I've had coke at Morg activities in some of the less anal wards I've been in. People who thought it was fine drank it, and people who thought it was the devil's soda just drank Sprite or whatever instead... and quietly speculated amongst themselves on how the coke-drinkers would burn in hell for their abominable wickedness.

Shameful lol,the only thing that could possibly be worse than this would be catching one of the members having shopped in a liquor store.
Oh wait...

Oh yes all unhealthy food allowed apparently but Not caffeine!!

And also yes LDS do not usually display images of God/Jesus in their chapels.Very odd.

I have seen at least two pictures of Jesus Christ in every LDS meetinghouse I've ever been in. Not defending them in any way, but the assumption that they never, ever show their namesake in any fashion is false.

There was even a story run here (SLTrib, IIRC) a while back where it was mentioned that someone has the job of covering up all of the portraits of Deity whenever LDS meetinghouses are loaned to Muslim groups for services.

I think they meant the chapel. Three are pictures is Christ in every church building but there are NO pictures in the chapel.

What's the difference between a chapel and a meeting house?

The chapel to me is the room in which sacrement meeting was held.

I asked my parents at age 9 if I could bring my black girlfriend to church with me. She had taken me to vacation Bible school in summer where I saw my first picture of Jesus and had to ask who he was. I had heard of him, of course....

I'm 60, so this was a while ago, but as a girl there were not pictures of Jesus in any building I attended right through high school.

This is the Institute Building adjacent to the University of California at Santa Barbara. It is a small brick building in Isla Vista, in Santa Barbara area, CA. The Institute of Religion is part of CES (Church Educational System) which offers classes to college age students.

The drink is an off-brand Root Beer they sell in the area.

This is the large room on one side of the building that can be closed off for separate rooms. They have a library in one section of the building. They have Sunday meetings in the room, use it for dinners, and wedding receptions. On the other end is a small kitchen.

There are a variety of religious pictures against one wall which is common in most of the LDS Churches.

There is a study room that senior missionaries sometimes use and missionaries use to teach investigators.

It's held as a miracle from the Provo Tabernacle fire that the picture of Jesus on the wall was not touched by any flames or smoke.
