It teaches them to not trust anyone outside of their belief.

It teaches them everyone's intentions are petty and pale in comparison to their own within the confines of Mormon values.

It teaches them that they can never be wrong about anything, as long as they have the "Mormon armor of God on"

It teaches them to lie for themselves, their family and their church. If they know something they said or did was wrong, it would be too embarrassing or bring shame on the family or church name if they came clean and admitted to being wrong and at fault, no matter how large or small situation.

It teaches them that it's ok to lie by omission, as long as it's not hurting anyone.

It teaches them, as long as they have the church on their side, then they're safe.

I have in-laws and immediate family members who I have caught being guilty of these behaviors on many occasions. They have learned to rely on a church organization too much to back them when things get just a little bit edgy for them. They have no solid backbone of their own, so they have to lie to get by, fake it till they make it. Anyone else know Mormon friends, family who do this way too much or once in a while?

Any other examples of what "the Mormon armor of God" teaches their members?
