Remember the 14th chapter of Alma, where women and children were burned in front of Alma and Amulek? Amulek wanted to stop it, but Alma said: "he doth suffer that they may do this thing ... that the judgments which he shall exercise upon them in his wrath may be just"

Then Alma and Amulek were put in prison, bound, without food, etc. Then the chief judge and his dudes "smote" them - and guess what happened? Now the Lord intervenes because "How long shall we suffer these great afflictions, O Lord? O Lord, give us strength according to our faith which is in Christ, even unto deliverance". And they broke the cords and the prison walls fell and killed the bad guys.

So ... the Lord delivers these two guys because of their afflictions but stays his hand when women and children are being burned?

Those of us who have been studying this Lord guy know that he's been a misogynist prick forever.
