A comment in an earlier thread made me think: who should direct a block buster movie about the B of M?

With all the emphasis on wars and violence, I think I would give the nod to Quentin Tarantino: Ammon and the Lamanites ala Kill Bill Vol. 2.

I'm for Speilberg. The plot is razor-thin, and it's going to need a lot of special effects and sentimentality.

P.S. They aren't the Wachowski Brothers anymore -- they are a brother and sister (Lana Wachowska) team now

The only movie set in Mesoamerica like the BOM that I've seen is the Yul Brynner sword-and-sandal film "Kings of the Sun" (1963).

It would be a waste of directorial talent.

Every director I imagine doing the Book of Mormon makes me wish they were doing some other project. I wish there weren't so many comic book movies for that reason too. The Book of Mormon is the Thomas Covenant The Unbeliever of sacred works. I don't think I could bear to see the advertising if it was made into a movie.
