Loving the Lamanites

Just musing here.... the Native Americans (well, at least until a few years ago), descended principally from the Lamanites. I mean, they're right out of the BOM! Yet I never remember a single Morgbot I went to church with giving a rip about the plight of this disenfranchised people. And we lived only a few hours from several reservations. They talked day in and day out about God's love for the "blossoming flower" that was the Lamanite people. But they wanted nothing to do with the Lamanites.

I don't get it.
