Just wondering about a special general conference session on the 19th

It will be held on the 26th here in the Atlanta area. Some sort of broadcast and that's all I've heard. I would like to see them say something about the essays that are coming out, but I'm sure I will be sorely disappointed. It's probably going to be about missionary work, ugh!

Since it was mentioned with a Tom Phillip's post, one can't help but think they feel the need to run interference. Atlanta, hmm that's interesting.

It appears you are hanging all of your hopes on Tom's work, but, IMO, you are making mountains out of molehills.

One, ONE post postulated that this "special conference" could be related to Tom's work and now you "can't help" but think there's some big connection?

A few days ago you started a thread about a connection with Tom's deposition being on the day the Feds went back to work, which Odell shot out of the water with one common sense reply.

It is my practice to give new posters the benefit of the doubt, but when you have been posting here for only a few weeks and most of your posts are focusing on Tom and making flimsy connections between non-events and what he's working on, it seems like you are stirring the pot. Or maybe your anxiety is getting the best of you.

I've heard about a "special stake conference." Is that what you're talking about or is this a full blown general conference beamed from SLC? If that's the case, when was the last time they did this?

I would bet that it's just an area conference. Every other stake conference has been one of these broadcasts for the last few years here in Utah...so we have one of these "special" conferences every year now.

Or, the alternative 'Olympics' context?

I do recognize the alternate definition, usually indicated by the spelling 'speshul', but if you meant that you woulda spelt it that way....right?

My guess would be a combined PH and RS meeting with a new SLC video being shown.
