My TBM kids will probably have harsh words to say about my filthy lucre and how I obtained it but I won a big jackpot last night in Wendover. I am sure this will be a once in a lifetime happening for me as I am such a small time gambler. It was such a shock to me I couldn't really believe what the screen was telling me. People around me were more vocal about it that I was....LOL.

What was weird is the cashiers had me sign the tax form and then wanted to give me this wad of $100 bills. I asked them for a check in stead and they complied. Later, I realized they do this hoping people will gamble it away and they'll recoup their loss. Ok, sometimes I am slow on the uptake...

That's all.

It also allows them to get rid of cash, making their eventual bank deposit (?) a whole lot safer. I think this is one of the reasons that grocery stores will let you write a check for over the amount of your order.

Congratulations on your win, and what fun!

have fun with some of it, put some in my HSA, some in my ROTH and some into home repairs. It is such a windfall, I just can't get over it.

Do something really fun with it then return and report OK?

Unless you really need a new roof or something. In that case go ahead and be all responsible with it.
