Resignation

I have a question. My DH and I are going to resign. We live in a branch, not a ward. Does the letter go to the branch president or directly to the stake president?

I would treat the situation as if both are going to know.

The congregation where I live is a branch. I sent my letter directly to Member Records, and they forwarded it to the local branch president, who was the one to call me. He then deferred to the stake president for a "final decision", though I had no dealings at all with the SP.

I think your first bet would be the BP, just because they'll likely pass it on to him anyway.

It can go to either or both.

Many choose to send it to Greg Dodge in SLC with copies going to the SP and the BP or bish.

Going above their heads keeps them from sitting on it forever.
