A true mormon believer replied on Kristina's thread about how She has signed up for baptism but has decided she doesn't want to be a mormon. Sounds like a cute mishie boy is putting peer pressure on her.

A TBM responded to say that mormonism provides a happy life for many true believing members and also said that WE at RfM are not objective. LOL

At least we're recovering and are not still under the thumb of the corporation as TBMs are.

I hope every "investigator" will ask about "Milk Before Meat," the mormon system of lies to reel people into mormonism.

Members know and missionaries are reminded to tell the fluffy easy stuff first and save the strange scary stuff for later.

Milk before meat makes sense for babies who need to transition from breast milk to solids. It doesn't make sense for fully mature adults with good brains. Nor is it fair to withhold basic expectations and doctrine from anyone who is considering baptism.

Only cults refuse full disclosure to prospective converts. Open honest mainstream churches tell a newcomer whatever they want to know BEFORE they join, not in drips and drops as they become gradually acclimated after years of paying 10%.

And the concept of "objective" includes researching / experiencing MORE than one point of view. However, TBMs have experienced only ONE point of view, the church's; and thus are necessarily subjective and limited in their understanding.

EXMOs, who have lived BOTH viewpoints, are the objective ones!

People investigating the Mormon Church? Please be aware that Cheryl is telling the truth. There's more to Mormonism than you are being told. And there's none of it good. If it were good, don't you think they'd tell you about it now?

at the precise time they should be experiencing life and figuring out who they are and what they want.

Yes, everyone here is well aquainted with true believing mormons who are thrilled with their church and its culture. Many here were once very happy as mormons and are grieving because the church is not true.

But does that mean that someone should go ahead with a baptism when they are negative or ambilent about it?

No, certainly not! We sometimes have to make take jobs or make changes in life when we feel unsure. But there is never a need to join a church when we're uncomfortable with it or just because cute mishies happen to knock on the door and they're attractive.

It's easy to change our minds and leave most churches. Ordinarily, no one in other churches track down those who leave and harasses them forever the way mormons do. And in other churches, families don't divide into factions of hate or shunning when someone leaves. The happiest mormons in the world don't reamin that way if anyone in their family or circle of friends decides to leave.
