thedocumentor's comments in another thread caused me to wonder. The statement was: "Seems to me that folks in some denoms are capable of nuanced thinkg--Unitarians, liberal Catholics, reform Jews, liberal Lutherans, etc--while folks in others, have trouble."
We know from personal experiences that the SLC church tends to be guilty of black/white thought processes, but what about the other Mormon denominations? For example, I am aware that RLDS women are ordained to their preisthood. We also know that the FLDS tend to be even more rigid in their thought processes allowing their young daughters to be married off to much older men and allowing their sons to be abandoned on the streets of neighboring cities and towns before they reach adulthood.
Does anyone have other info on other Mormon denominations? Are any of them any more liberal than the main church in SLC?
