During every previous ex-Mormon conference there has been a "Hospitality Suite" that's specifically set aside during one of the nights for mixing-and-mingling. Anyone can show up, even non-conference attendees, just so long as you pay the $15.00 to cover the room, food, and drinks.
Anyway, I looked over the agenda for this weekend's conference, and I didn't see any such thing offered. This time around, it simply said "Social Hour" (or something like that) on both Friday *and* Saturday.
So, does this mean there won't be an official Hospitality Suite at all? Or does this mean that it will happen *twice* this year? If it's going to be the same as on previous years, on which night will it take place?
I got an email about using the Ambassador Room for the social time Friday night, people asked to bring snacks and/or drinks and those coming just for the social hour asked to pay $10.
Those unable to bring snacks or drinks are asked to chip in to the Contribution Jar so they can buy more stuff for Saturday night.
Gosh, I'd hope they wouldn't do away with the Hosptitality Suite! That was the best part of the '07 conference.
There were actually a couple of RM's guarding the door in full Temple Guard requesting the secret handshakes/passwords before anyone could gain entrance. It was a hoot! (I hung with those guys all night).
Wine Country Girl and Troy and some other RfMers were at the social hour Friday night . . . so, uh, you can guess how things went at the party. ;o) Good times!

Ahh, so it's going on tonight (Friday).

"Saturday night?" So it's happening twice after all?
