We were at a dinner party Saturday night and our nevermo friends had us and a few of their mormon friends over.

After dinner we were talking and the single, never-married mormon girl was talking about a few of the meetings she had been to. She prefaced this with a 'I don't want you guys to judge all mormons by this...' Apparently some lady was speaking to them all about sexuality. She went on to tell then that she had 4 boys and 2 girls, and that everyone in her family kissed each other on the lips. She proudly proclaimed that she tells all her children that it should feel like kissing your sister/ brother until you are married!

I was floored that she would get up in front of a large group of young adults and tell them all how she's been messing up her poor children their whole lives...

There is a talk by SWKimball I believe that states that very thing and I was taught in the 1970s/1980s that French kissing was a sin that you had to confess to a bishop.

I'm sure someone here can reference to talk I've referred to.

French kissing was too sensual and too much like intercourse, what with your tongue in someone else's mouth and all!!!

How ridiculous.

the bishop talked about dating his wife and how they never kissed until they got married in the temple. At the time, not understanding the normalcy of sexual urges, I really admired him. This story contributed to my depression when I failed to live up to this sort of idealism of being totally asexual until marriage.
