There were three sharing a table at lunch today. I swear, it didn't take more than a glance to know that they were all LDS. Imagine my satisfaction when they finally got up, walked past our table, and I distinctly heard one of them mentioning BYU.

Maybe I just expect doughy, blond, smiley guys to all be LDS.

It's one vice they all allow themselves.

Their appearance suits their mindset. Soft and malleable.

Because being fed on milk all the time helps them to become milktoast which is doughy?

I don't know if I'd call them milquetoasts, they're usually pushy, bullying thorns in one's side.

Is this baby breast milk, as These Mormon "men" are infantile little babies?

Oh yeah they are easy to spot. I always look for the garment lines or a CTR ring. They talk about church most of the time so hearing them speak is a big give away.

Another thing is the ridiculous missionary haircut. I'm sure most missionaries are counseled to never stop looking like a missionary.

Do we spot the ones who don't fit the stereotype?

So it might be a question of why there's a Mormon stereotype. Or is it a MoZone-living BYU grad subspecies stereotype?

That was just over two years ago. I missed a couple, though. And then it turned out that I also worked with two ex-Mormons. Sweet. One keeps her identity so revealed that no one, even the Mormons, knows she is a resigned ex-Mo, although she has a degree from BYU.

LOL! Even after living here in Houston for 20+ years, I can, too, so I know what you mean!

Moving my son into student housing for grad school (Austin) this past fall, I took one look at the guy in the office (work study undergrad) and thought 'holy crap, an RM fresh from the field!'.

Sure enough, a few days later my skeptical son (you can't tell by just a hunch, mom) informed me that yeah, he was just back from NZ and will be off to the Manti Temple to be married to Utah girl in December. I figure baby #1 will be here by this time next year . . . neither one of them 21 yet . . .

Of course, now my son rags on me about my 'morgdar'!
