I got married two years ago, not in the temple - created a website to post the wedding photos and pictures of the kids (blended family).

Stake president asked me why my wife's wedding dress was sleeveless. I asked him how he knew, and he said he went to the website. But he didn't get an announcement, and he didn't know the website address. So he basically had to do some searching around to find this - never congratulated me on getting married. Only comment was about her "immodest" wedding dress.

Told him I didn't think it was appropriate that he is discussing my wife's "figure" with me. He said it was completely appropriate since I posted the pictures online, and that makes it available to all.

Should have told him, "If your view is to look at pictures of women that are available online, then you must have a pornography problem that needs to be addressed."

This makes me angry.

Were it me in that situation I would have said things that can't be taken back.
Were he to press the issue I'd probably land in jail for assault.

Josh was the featured skater boy for the "I'm a MORmON" ads.
Good old Josh has also shot a lot of photographs of bare rear ends & unclothed models for his photography business. Check his site. Since its ok for the featured poster boy for the Mormon ads, the entrenched Leaders are just trying to keep up on inspecting & critiquing booty photos! especially of the local female stock under their super-vision. (PsOS!)

Mormons are controlling and arrogant. None of his business what kind of dress she wore to her wedding. Tell him to bugger off!

Just because a woman wears a sleeveless dress in person or in photo doesn't mean a creep has a right to talk about it rudely! Sheesh!

Maybe you should have told him she wore a sleeveless dress because she can, especially since she doesn't wear those ugly garments.

She wore that dress because she can and what she wears on her wedding day is none of that fucktard's business. He's just jealous because his wife has flabby upper arms that a ham would envy.

Maybe it's time to stop interacting with people who take that kind of license, and the organization that gives it to them.

Take this in the spirit it is given, please, which isn't a mean spirit.

I am continually amazed when shit like this happens and posters here wind up the anecdote with "..I should have said..". I'm curious as to why you DIDN'T say something. Were you intimidated? Don't be. I'd go back, say "I was thinking about our conversation.." and then let him have it. He's an asshat.

Just sayin'....

Ron

If that were to happen to me today, that is exactly what would happen -- they would incur my wrath. That's probably why it doesn't happen, because they're the ones in kiss-up mode. Back then, it was me that would acquiesce... because I believed in their authority.

I find mormon leaders to be thugs and bullies - intimidating those who are willing to be intimidated, and avoiding (if not employing security) to avoid those who aren't.

You did put the pictures on the Internet. That means you put them up for people to view for whatever reason they chose. This is the sad reality of the Internet. The way I read your post, you do not know for certain how the SP found your web site. Perhaps he got an email from someone innocently sharing the URL with friends. If someone I knew put wedding pictures up on the Internet, I might share that URL with others that I know have met that person.

That said, what he said and did not say to you about those picture qualifies him as the creep of the week.

Because that's the dress she chose to marry me in.

:)

And whether or not your pictures are posted online -- it's still none of his business what your wife wears or why. I'd suggest to him that he worry about HIS life and leave you to your own. (But I've been known to be a pushy female. lol)

I would have said in my most innocent voice:

Because she liked it alot and it was such a good price.

She was just soooooo beautiful!!!! gee gosh awww.

And then go on for 10 minutes about how great your wife is!

(Force him to say the dress is inappropriate)

Then get angry with him. Why is it inappropriate to wear a sleeveless dress at a CIVIL MARRIAGE? You didn't think she would wear that dress at a *GASP* TEMPLE MARRIAGE *GASP* would you? They wouldn't have let her do that right? Why that would show her garments....and she clearly isn't wearing any in this picture is she?

So what exactly is your problem Stake President???

Being an ass much today???

"...because that's the dress she selected. I though she looked gorgeous. I was so proud of her! And since we didn't get married in the temple, we were free to dress as we pleased. She got to look like a real bride! Her dad walked her down the aisle, there were tons of flowers, beautiful music, and all of our kids were there. It was a real family event, and all of our friends, Mormon and non-Mormon alike, witnessed us get married. I especially liked when we exchanged our rings as part of the ceremony. It was so memorable. I wouldn't have done it one bit differently."
