FamilySearch.org Question

HI! A while ago someone posted information on how to find out baptisms in the LDS church and baptisms for the dead. At that time I did a search under my father's name and found out that the family of his ex-wife had them both baptised after their deaths. It even recorded the person who requested the baptisms. I thought I found this information at FamilySearch.org...but now I can no longer find the information.

Do I have the correct website? Is the information available on another website?

They have made a lot of changes at LDS.org but the older sites are still available. Is this the one you were looking for?

If a person is listed on this site does it mean they were baptized into the LDS church or is this just genealogy information?

Only if the person's name is in the IGI. The other databases are not associated with temple work.

If the date by their name is their birthdate, then it is a baptism, and maybe endowment. If the date is the person's marriage date, then it is a marriage sealing.

Temple ordinances are shown in the IGI listing but to see the ordinances you have to login.
