When this was announced back in October, it was covered on page 4 or 5...this morning it was on the front page.

Carmel is an extremely wealthy, upscale, bedroom community just outside of Indianapolis.

So the church is still following its pattern of placing new Temples in high-profile, suburban areas. FWIW.

Less than 20 people in the room. Real growth.

They know where the money is. They don't need more poor people who are a burden to them, they need $$

Via temples, TSCC is establishing presence in as many places as possible, *regardless* of the dearth of Mormons or lack of growth in the target area.

It's like the U.S. building army bases all over the world. The Mormon church is doing the same thing, but with temples.

Their Cops, Mayor and School officials are very good in covering up the (mis)deeds of their Carmel citizens, so we can all sleep well.

That picture is obviously taken during sunday school and not sacrament meeting so its not a good representation of the sacrament meeting attendance.

The church is slowly growing in the Indianapolis area. But its from move ins from out west. And I guarantee you that most of those move ins are day dreaming for the day they can return to the shadow of the everlasting hills.

Why are they dreaming of moving back to the hills.

I usually get insider stuff, but?

Do they still do those broadcasts? Did they sell those stations?

Wow. Utah, where even the mountains are eternal (better than everyone else's).

Okay, I admit sky daddy did send them the best pow-pow. But it'mostly gentiles that enjoy such luxuries.

Most (but not all) Utahns who move to the midwest spend an amazing amount of energy blathering about missing the mountains and returning back to the main collective.

It grows very tiresome.

I grew up in the area where the Mormon church is building the temple, and it was very heavily forested with 50' tall ash trees. My stake president once joked in a stake conference about teaching Utah immigrants about the color GREEN. It does become tiresome to hear constant blather about Utah.
