Door to Door Salesmen

My father said to me one day after closing the door on the God Squad; "Ya know son, if I want a vaccuum cleaner, I do my own research, I go to the store and find the one that I want, with all the attachments I want, in the color that I want, I then purchase it and take it home. I DO NOT, wait for a salesman to knock on my door and try to tell me the vaccuum cleaner that he has is the BEST one on the market, and the ONLY one that'll get my carpets clean".
Didn't quite grasp it then, but as an adult when the knock came at my door, it all became crystal clear.

The key word is research. Yes, research and you will save your self grief with religion and any product we all must have.
