The Mormons are bragging about everybody being accounted for in Japan... and now that they're all accounted for, they're rolling up their sleeves and helping out...
With a 75% inactivity rate, it really seems incredulous that they located all but about 1,000 in a few days. OTOH, maybe the thought police really do keep good records now on everyone who has ever been put on the rolls.
When I was a missionary there, long ago, we lost track of people all the time. Seems like a PR spin from TSCC. I wouldn't be surprised though if no "active" Japanese Mormons died in the tsunami - there are so few of them relative to the population.
I was going to post about this before. The comments on the Jeff Holland youtube clip made me feel ill, such was the severity of the "us and them" mentality of the TBMs.
"Substantial donations": I wish they were more specific. They up it to $10 per member this year?
