If we have been put on earth to have and use free agency, didn't we 'choose' to come here - indicating we already knew how to use agency?

If "now is the time for men to prepare to meet God" but we lived with God previously, shouldn't that be "now is the time for men to prepare to meet God, again"...

Don't get me started on this Jon - the whole plan thing is flawed on so many levels - I'll just for now throw out one thing, that HF lost potentially 30 billion+ of his spirit children in the supposed war - but it's ok, he was pretty cool about it, in fact he cast them out to eternal damnation. Heavenly mother might have shed a tear or two but at least countless billions would still join the one true church in their mortal probation..... Oh hold on...

Would that include the millions out there that have never even heard of Jesus? What about the millions of children that were still-born. They must've prepared pretty well. They get a freakin' free pass to the CK.

None of the tithing, callings, blah-blah. They die before they even take a breath and they are zoomed right into the CK because they were too good for this world.

In God's presence in the pre-existence, we had no agency because God was right there in front of us. Earth life is a trial to see if we'll obey without his direct presence. Plus we learn a few things about parenting and such that help us in the eternal scheme of things.

Okay... I can shoot holes in that thinking like most of us can... but that is what the average active mormon runs with.

And as recall, the "time to prepare to meet God" thing is BoM, not bible, fwiw.

The gospel is for feeling, not thinking!

The entire thing crumbles under the slightest amount of scrutiny. That's why they need to make things sacred and mysterious. By saying things are sacred, the purpose is to keep people from looking behind the curtain.

The attitude "in my day" was that a still-born baby did not take a breath so did not obtain its spirit--

I had several friends who had still-born babies and that was the attitude. One girl was a SP's daughter who had still-born twins and I thought he was a very kind man (I knew him quite well), but, nope, he told her that they didn't obtain their spirits as they were still-born.

BUT you can't get an abortion as that would be killing a baby.

They want to have it both ways.

Nobody's explanation of life after death will ever make sense because it is one of the greatest mysteries of all, or else there isn't any life after death... either way, anyone who says they know, you can pretty much not believe them.

How did they get their agency before coming to earth? We also came to earth to exist among good and bad to learn to CTR. That doesn't wash either since apparently that existed in the preexistence too.

We also came to earth to hook up with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 99.8 % of all earth dwellers are going to end up in Spirit Prison to learn this "gospel" since they didn't join the One and Only Truly True Church. So why are we sent to earth exactly when the vast majority are going to Spirit Prison?

Methinks Mormon God's big plan is more than a wee bit dysfunctional. It makes your head hurt. The best thing to do is just stop thinking about such nonsense.

The bible says the dead are concious of nothing and that
we were created beings from dust and god breathed in his
spirit not our own. We live, we die and rot in the grave
until resurrection according to bible. We didnt want to hear
that so we accepted added scripture D&C and the false book
of abraham and all the nonsense of comming to earth.

All should not be lost the bible jesus says, if they accept
me no matter what demonination as long as they dont accept
' the mark and sealing of the beast and endure to the end
with that sunday pagen roman false sabbath 666 when they
had the chance to come out of great tribulation from false
churches and false prophets.

All who accept the real jesus come forth in the resurrection
and those who dont come forth only as mortals in the 2nd
resurrection only to die the 2nd death destroyed by fire
and cease to exist. Eternal life and everlasting life is
only in accepting the real jesus.

All those who reject the saviour will not live for eternity
in some lower kingdom as they have no spirit and only this
life to get it right but god in mercy takes into account
those who didnt have oppotunity yet they somehow chose
to live a good life according to the laws of concious
be it western or tribal etc will be saved also.

So forget all the nonsense of spirit world and becomming
gods etc and get on with the sanctity process of christ
in us, carried into the holy of holies by grace FIRST
then to enter the holy of holies(no physical ordiances needed of a temple building) then we having taken apon ourselfs the
charactor of christ within our for-heads sealed up in the
sanctury,do not desire sin after that, tho if so and continue
can become unsaved, so no rush getting to the holy of holies
and tho the mormon temple holy of holies is a false masonary
experience, the guilt is terrible to fail our covenants tho
fortenetly those who have been through the temple can
now go throught the invisable temple and gain his/her sealing
up by the holy ghost and the only thing they take to heaven
is christ charactor and surrender everything carnal and worldly
and it can be achieved without mormonism and pagen symbolism.

Mormonism is the blueprint and false.
The real deal is the sanctity of the temple body process
to eventually get from the holy to the holy of holies
but not answer to priests, but only to christ our royal
high priest and only judge.
