...god will smite countries other than these nine nations and then yet other people will tell the smited countries that they were smoten because of the first countries lack of faith.

Then some stupid bitch will make a youtube video about it praising god.

Shades of the Isaac Asimov's Hari Seldon and Psychohistory! It will be interesting to see how their work plays out.

All the nations shown have high standards for education. Social nets there have replaced religious charities to a large extent. When people are smarter and well fed, they have little to ask of spooks and spirits.

I wish I could be there to witness the extinction of religion. I would say, "Go with God." ha ha

If Ireland can dump Catholicism, there's hope for Utah yet.

Most of the rest of the world has already dumped Mormonism.

Slainte mhath.

Several of those countries are on the list of highest internet use per capita in the world. Maybe they're out there educating themselves in science matters instead.

Netherlands is # 2.

Canada is # 4.

New Zealand is # 7

The U.S. is # 13.

Finland is # 15.

Sorry, but "religion" is hardly going to die out in all of those countries. In Holland and Canada, if nowhere else on that list, Islam is thriving--especially of the fundamentalist sort.

There is even a growing, albeit currently quite small, and very radical Islamic minority in Ireland. They may be leaving Catholicism behind, but that doesn't mean Muslim immigrants and converts to Islam won't fill the void at some point. The Muslim birthrate tends to be considerably higher than the native birthrate in Western European countries.

I'd be more likely to believe that, as a result, gays, non-Muslims, and any semblance of women's rights are more likely to become extinct than religious belief in those countries, eventually.

Yeah, I work with several Muslims. They're the nicest people in the office. Been to the Mosque a few times, once for a funeral and once for a wedding, and have always been treated like royalty.

The Roman Catholic Church is definately dead in Quebec. Omni present in all facets of french speaking society up until 1960, it hardly rates a mention in the province today.

Wow. That says a lot, as there are Catholic buildings all over Quebec. I guess they aren't attended.
