I admit it--while making dinner last night I ran the movie, wondering what percentage was absolutely made up out of mormon myth and screenwriter "approved by the authorities" scenes. I'm going with 80%. The way they cut one scene, it looked like Joe Smith not only raised a little kid from the dead, but Brigham Young too!!
Such complete propaganda. The Missourians are all greasy snaggle-toothed Neanderthals and Joseph is this perfectly kempt figure that sounds more like Ghandi or the dalai lama than the superstitious slick talker he was he was.
Like the Truman Madsen talks they film forgets to tell the rest of the story.
