If you join the Church, get baptised, go to the Temple and enter into the covenants that you don't know about until you've 'signed' up to them. You are then obliged to no longer question anything to do with the Church. You literally have to continue to pray, obey and pay. The punishment for not doing this is a fate worse than death...

On the other hand, don't sign up to the Church and the Mormon's view is that you will get a chance in the next life to sort it all out, no biggy...

Seems like not trying gives the better chance of success, what an odd plan...

Actually, the best plan is to be born with Down's Syndrome or to die at birth.
