The Bio Board has a new poster. Short bio though.

http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,176744

It is an attempt to discredit the bios.

I quote, "Is it just me or do most of these stories seem to have been written by the same imaginative person?"

Fair enough. Lets look at writing style.

I write with sarcastic humor and clearly separated paragraphs with twist endings in expository form that switches to the present tense once the past is over. I make minor convention errors.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,174573

GLA writes chronologically and with drama exclusively in the past tense.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,174756

Enoughenoch19 likes a long ellipsis and caps lock for emphasis.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,157022

Greyfort writes beautifully with correct conventions, expository like me, but no cuss words or sarcasm.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,148625

Slutcrates largely ignores conventions but writes boldly.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,142678

Dogboy. Clearly educated. Very smart. Great story. Not a writer.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,137267

Nebularry. No nonsense. Short. Sweet. Intelligent. To the point. Articulate. No drama, or cussing or writing errors.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,135777

Nickerickson. Clever. Funny. Articulate. Lots of acronyms Minor convention errors.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,134753

Kimball. Might be a professional writer or historian. Perfect conventions. Expository style.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,134539

Freedom4all Has a penchant for triple question marks "???" Writes well. Misuses dashes.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,132424

NewJackVictory
Writes with large block paragraphs. Writes OK as an acronym "O.k." Starts paragraphs with numbers and uses caps for emphasis.
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?3,132036

Raptor.
Writes with an elegance that I cannot match. Has perfect writing conventions. Swears a lot. Has a lot of humor and swearing. Has an arrogance that you can't help but like. Usually writes in dialogue not expository style.

Are these all the same writer?

Sorry for writing all of those. I just got really imaginative one night and had to write a bunch of bios.

My bad...

They are going to figure out there are actually only 3 people on this site and one of them has a multiple personality disorder!

I'm just a figment of Raptor's imagination, aren't I?

So you're a figment of my imagination's imagination.

Good luck getting out of limbo!

Hey what the hell is this spinning top doing? It's been going for like an hour now. Trippy.

Timmy just argues with his other personalities all day and is constantly getting banned.

southernidahomormon guy doesn't actually have multiple personality disorder, but he is fully responsible for at least 1/3 of this site's traffic via new posts with Mormon news links.

raptorjesus is constantly creating new personalities to ask advice from Timmy. All of the "I don't know what to do about my marriage," or "do Mormons really have 7 wives?" types of threads come from him. He is gathering information for the book he is writing.

None of the rest of us actually exist.

If you don't exist then why should I believe anything you say?

I always suspected I was imaginary...

Or, wait... If I didn't write a bio because I was never a Mormon then am I not included in this? Am I still real? Help me! I'm having an existential crisis!

I actually would like it to stay, at least for a while.

It does more good than harm. There is no way the biographies were all written by the same person. The styles are so vastly different. I didn't even get in to verb usage, catch phrases, colloquialisms or pop-culture. Anyone who can read can see that there are multiple authors with multiple styles and writing.

Our voices come out in our writing. I say let it stay a while just do discredit it. It is not a threat. Let it be what it is, a false accusation that can be publicly criticized and analysed later.

I hope it stays up and is pinned. Perfect example of what we are talking about every day on this board. Hearing what doesn't fit your matrix causes absurd rationalizations. Ca-Ching!

I'm all for bad writing. If only "good writers" wrote this world would have mighty dull reading material.

Bring it on!

The Apologists tried to claim that all these affidavits regarding Joseph Smiths reputation were all written by the same person in a desperate attempt to discredit them.

Well it's gone now, so I didn't get to read it.

The funny thing about me is that the coordination between my brain and my fingers when I'm typing is so much better than the coordination between my brain and my mouth.

I'm much more eloquent when I type. I've been a professional typist since I was a teenager, so I can pretty much type as the thoughts come.

But when I speak, something happens. I think my thoughts run ahead of my mouth and I stumble over my words. Then I can come off sounding like a bit of an airhead at times. LOL Frustrating.

I like this breakdown. And how can I edit my post to correct my errors? Now, can we discredit the BoM as it is full of errors, plagiarism, fanciful stories, and downright bullshit? :-)

Now go puzzle why all the airy fairy stories in The Ensign look the same...

I don't remember if it was on this site or elsewhere, but someone had posted a few years ago about people being hired to make up and write that stuff, I seem to think they said they knew one writer... At the time I was just getting into the fuller picture of morgbotism and went back to reread from some of my Ensigns, and yeah, they do actually sound like the same writers telling different first-person stories.

I have a suspicious feeling because I knew people who submitted to the Ensign that everything that does get through gets very much scrubbed for tone and voice so that it all sounds the same.

That way no one would know how many are actual submissions vs. just made up.

It's true. But to be fair because the level of thought of an Ensign article, it takes all of about 20 seconds to go through the whole magazine.

Thanks, Man in Black, for the kind comment. I assure you, I write under no pseudonyms and, as far as I know, noone has assumed my screen name. Just as a note, I frequently write letters to the editor of our local newspaper. Helps keep my mind sharp and ready for RfM.

Hey, Admin, is there anyway to have a "profile picture" much like Facebook? It would help us all identify with each other. Just a thought.

I was trying to be complimentary to RfM. We have great writers but stylistically we all write very differently.

Even with no name on it I could probably spot a Raptor post or Exmormon Ron. Each style is it's own, but we have one thing in common, we all write pretty well.

I came to this forum because in the past it was helpful. I recently lost my father and was looking around for some sort of connection. I have a Mormon heritage but it is long past but the Mormon funeral brought up some feelings.

Whoever you are, Dogboy or Mikey, or Gay whatever, get yourself an agent and write but don't hang out here. Get some experience and then write. But don't do this, it is just sad.

Signing off.

In my youth, I spent two semesters teaching freshman composition at a college. After reading and critiquing at most two essays from any given student in the class, I would thereafter be able to identify any other essay written by that same student, submitted anonymously and in type-written form, as a unique and identifiable work of that student. (By the way, not all students had the same "voice" from essay to essay. That was when you called them in and had a talk about plagiarism.)

Just saying, The Man In Black could be teaching composition. . .
