In the Hitchhiker's Guide, lots of beer is important to cushion traversing the matter transfer beam when getting lifted off the planet. I wonder if this works on being Raptured? After all, May 21 is Saturday night!!

All in favor of drinking beer to celebrate Rapture Judgment Day, say "Aye!"

And please, for the sake of the gods, don't forget the most important thing:

"Don't Panic!"

Isn't already the rapture in Japan? Is CNN carrying the event?

Supposedly, the dead will come out of their graves first so that they can testify to those who aren't saved yet. So, maybe some zombie movies are in order the night of the 20th. ;)

BTW, all this May 21, 2011 Rapture garbage is coming from Harold Camping of Family Radio. You can keep up on the countdown at http://www.familyradio.com It looks like he is going down with the ship, which is surprising to me. I figured he would have some sort of "revised prophesy" and then set a new date or something. In any event, I'm going to be watching the show. :)

At least DH will be in the same state in the upper Midwest as me and the kids so we won't have too far to meet up with each other on that day har har.

My only question to beer experts:

Does cold beer (ala as in america) work as well as warm beer (ala as in UK) for cushioning the rapture?

Absolutely. When you see the rapture unfolding, open the cold beer and drink deeply, open the warm beer and dump the contents into your pants.

Serious cushioning.

Is anyone else here as twisted as me? I am genuinely looking forward to this next weekend when I can see all the poor folks who believe in this bs try to justify why they weren't raptured. Could you imagine how crushed you would be to consider yourself a true follower of jebus and not be raptured? It is simultaneously hilarious and sad. Poor brainwashed religious nuts...

Somehow I think most here, having been very deluded by a revelatory cult, understand what it might just feel like for these folks on May 22.

I can just see ol' Harold on CNN now...

"I don't know that we taught it. I don't know that we emphasized it. Without the spirit of the lord you just can't understand these things...."

Its not even so much about not being raptured on that day, but when NOBODY is raptured that will sort of be a tip off that they screwed up. ... Also, Camping has said that that day will experience huge earthquakes all around the earth (beginning around 6pm local time whereever, starting at the Intl Date Line and moving west through Asia, Europe and the U.S.) and that the dead will be thrown out of their graves for everybody to see. All that stuff would be hard to miss.

It is on posters on the commuter rail in the Boston suburbs. We marked it on our calendar along with an (unrelated) party planned for the 22nd.

A warmer temperature allows you to taste and experience more of the flavors and aroma from the hops and malt

Commercial/chemical beers are best served icy cold as this freezes the palate - therefore masking the dreadful taste of crappy stuff.

The glass should be room temperature but never drink straight from the bottle at this temperature - the aroma won't hit you.

Cider: Same rules - according to my late hubby and sons, who do/did like a nice drinky poos.

To each his own eh?

Flame me - go on - go on!!!!!!!

I'll have to wait until DH is gone for a couple of weeks and then I'll get some O'Doul's and store it in the fridge. (I had some family members who were alcoholics and I don't want to end up like them but love the taste of beer so hence the O'Doul's)

I've got three homebrews on tap and we're brewing next Saturday, an amber. I shall call it 'Apocalypse Amber Ale'
