There is an extensive, illustrated story in the latest National Geographic about this site.

So, where does this fit into LDS 'history'? Before or after the Jaredite submarines?

Science is much more interesting than myths. Myths are limited by human imagination and tradition, much more than science.

In the 19th century the Book of Mormon gave an explanation for the origin of people in America but it is worthless now.

That site in Turkey was 11,500 years ago. A hunting structure in America dating to possibly 9,900 years ago has been found underwater. It was used at a time when the Great Lakes did not cover it. Just more proof that it is time to throw the BofM away because it does not explain the origin of people in America.

Here are some links to the American hunting site:

I guess the 'Earth is 6000 years old' crowd would also have a hard time explaining why we can see the light of stars and galaxies more than 6000 light years away.

AS DEAD AS A DOORNAIL.

anyone who says that in Morland...Aren't they exposing tscc as a FRAUD?

You know, guys, this is the point at which some seminary teacher pops up with "facts" about how bogus carbon dating is...so, of course, it's "not really that old".

People believe what they want to believe. Facts often have little or nothing to do with it.

"Evil will always win, because Good is dumb." I think this sums up my attitude towards the way religious people think. Granted they view themselves as smart. Fine, I just like the quote.
