Well Heavenly Father smashed a stake centre in a Missouri (AKA Garden of Eden) tornado.

Link below includes a pic of said stake centre after Heavenly Father had a hissy-fit all over it.

Strange how one-sided Mormon magical thinking is. Stake Centre saved = church is true, Stake Centre smashed to smithereens = nature doesn't know we're Mormons.

There's a series of pictures going around facebook which shows the destroyed stake center. Several of the pictures show the standard Mormon chapel art among the rubble, but there was one single painting left on the well relatively untouched and everybody is commenting on what a miracle it is. Just unbelievable

Close to 50% of the town of Slave Lake in northern Alberta was destroyed by a wild fire last week. The local LDS Branch was reported as being among the buildings that were wiped out.

Not a good week for LDS real estate.

these buildings were dedicated and consecrated by holy servants of the Lord, usually general authorities. I have been to many of these ceremonies. Usually the spiritualese in the dedications command that the ediface be protected from the elements. If I was a morgbot, I would be questioning why the dedicatory prayer on the Joplin Stake Center did NOT work - like at all. Stop grasping at straws, like a stupid picture hanging on the wall, as evidence that it was God's will. The dedicatory prayer should have pre-empted any natural disaster and it didn't. Face it guys, it all bull shiz.

Naturally it will be spun this way: "We are blessed because no members were killed-- what's important are the poeple, because THEY are the church, not the building--it's a test to make us focus more eternal things like our families"--yada, yada, yada.....

Obviously, the "protected by God" angle doesn't cut it on this one.
