I know it's probably risky to post a ward name, but I was wondering if there are any people who visit here from Raleigh 1st. I'm in that ward with my dh, and it seems like EVERYONE is a TBM. I've been looking but haven't found a single non-believer like myself. I need to just stop going, but I'm afraid I'll lose everything.

:) No...I wish, cause then we could hang and be apostates together!

it'd be nice to find some in my ward too!

That would be great :) I think it's my tendency to view everyone else as "perfect" or "100% believers." I bet there's more like me (us) than we realize...they're probably all just good at playing the game. I know I am.

There are still people in the ward I grew up in who think I am TBM, and I've been out for a third of a century. Nobody talks about it. We can't read people's minds, which is really too bad. I'm sure it would be quite entertaining, and you would feel much less alone in your ward.

BTW, Raleigh is a lovely city. Find stuff to do besides RS! Life will be so much better.

That is right on the money. The 60-70% of any ward that does not attend generally has concerns of one form or another. The majority of the 14 million Mormons worldwide have left or are on their way out.

Get onto 'life after mormonism' and you'll be able to find us. There is a new NC Ex-Mos group. We just had our first support type activity in Durham. LAM is like a dumbed down version of facebook for ex-mos. It's filled the gaps for me that RfM can't for us east coaster's.

PS - I was in your Ward quite awhile ago. Had my worst experience with a Bishop in that Ward. It should have been a huge red flag for me, but it took another seven years to leave the Morg. Ironically, that Bishop's adult daughter was one of my favorite people in that Ward.

Charlotte folks are welcome to join us if you want to make the drive. So far we're including the Triangle and Greensboro, but anyone whose in reasonable driving distance is welcome.
