I don't know, but it kind of reads like fear mongering.

The stats they quote look like they may be cherry picked. 4 weeks prior, 10 weeks post? why not 10 weeks for both? Would the increase be less dramatic? How about the same numbers and time frames from several other population centers around the country and from other continents?

Nuclear fall out scares the hell out of me, but I'm not ready to panic over this one yet.

I vote for disinformation and rumor-mongering.

I live in the Northwest and if there was an issue it would affect more than just babies and we'd know about it.

No, it was caused by the NBA playoffs.

They were happening at the same time. Or maybe it was caused by the late arrival of spring.

Remember, correlation isn't necessarily causation.

There's plenty of data available from the Chernobel disaster, when lots of fallout blew west to Europe. Why not extrapolate from that?

This is like the humans cause global warming argument - ALL other possible variables are ignored.

Isn't there a whooping cough epidemic in the US now? What about other causes? The article states that low birth weights have increased in ratio since 1984. What has changed since then? What about GMOs? When were they introduced? Salmonella?
