MISSIONARY WORK. And they wonder why I feel so isolated in my family. My 90 year old father planned the reunion to fit with his idea of "families are forever". It could be his last reunion so I guess he figured to score some CK points. I think the main jist of it is to hold a tribute to my recently returned mission president brother. Doesn't seem to matter than MY family may not appreciate the planned program. I'll go to see my brother and sister I haven't seen for a long time, eat some food and see how much I can stomach of Mormonism before I get up and leave. Oh, I'm the only sibling of 9 kids to have left the cult.

...you'll be there to do missionary work for ex-Mormonism.

Shall we make some pamphlets?

...so if ya have to leave you can do it fast. Intestinal maladies work the best. If anyone challenges you, act like you are SO glad they asked and then give them the most disgusting description you possibly can, full of details, superlatives, adjectives, and all them other ives!

My mom has a real nice disease you can borrow if ya want, it is tres grotty and will do the trick nicely. Just do a google search for C-diff.

Code word for the family helps too... my mom and dad when they go to get-togethers, parties, and such (when they can't avoid em that is) they gots a code word one will say to the other which means Get-me-the-hell-outta-here-NOW!

Oh I feel sorry for you. Yes, do say hi, eat, then say goodbye.

Better yet, spike the Mormon punch and let the good times roll!

I'm sorry to hear that. Make your own tag, something to the effect of:

Church of Helping people leave cults
*name*

And wear a suit and tie. Pass out paperwork and let them know the ills of being in a cult. :)

(I know it's not that easy, but it probably would be funny;)

I always found that nauseating even as a TBM.

For our family reunions (no longer held now that most of my parents siblings are dead)--the big sinners from the past are now over the top TBMs and bear their testimonies at family reunions and I am the big sinner.

"Are all the "endowed" members going to do a temple session, too?"

That line standing alone sounds like something you would hear in a hardcore porn movie. HAHAHAHA!!!

I 2nd the idea of secret drinking. I did it once at a regional single adult dance.

You are the only one of your 9 siblings to have the balls to publicly say you are out. It is hard for me to believe that there aren't others who are doubting. You go and be a good rep that leaving doesn't equal sadness.
