So, they're not talking about you, huh? LOL Watch this, I almost peed my pants watching it because it's EXACTLY what happens to Shila when she goes in to get her nails done.

Part of my comment acknowledged that they might be talking about you. and I said, "so what?"

They are making the safe assumption that like millions of Americans you don't speak their (or any other) language instead of talking about your in the next room or on some message board.

If you conduct yourself in such a way that you have no reason to care what others have to say about you, it's their problem and not yours. Once you quit giving a shit what others think, it's extremely liberating.

I still think it's a bit self-absorbed to assume they are talking about you, or that anything they might be saying about you is worth worrying about.

Yes, people talk about their clients when they know their clients won't hear about it. Does it really matter if it's in a foreign language or behind closed doors?

Reminds me of the new "Most Interesting Man in the World" commercial where he says:

"If you can't hold an entire conversation in Spanish, then don't begin it by saying 'hola'."

I chuckled at that one.

that they can't speak or understand.
It doesn't matter what you are saying, it's flat-out rude.
Some people are not taught basic manners, I guess. And sometimes it's a cultural thing -- some things that Filipinos do not consider rude are HORRIBLY rude in Western culture. Like looking a gift horse in the mouth.
I think when people immigrate to THIS country, they need to learn the culture and customs of THIS country. (Not the other way around)

OK.

You be choose to be insulted by people having a conversation that you can't understand and I don't. Guess who's probably happier.

This is about good manners vs rudeness.
It is rude to carry on a conversation right in front of somebody who can't understand the language.
RUDE.
People need to learn manners.

to know when they are calling somebody "dumb round-eye".
THEY DO IT A LOT.
He has called people on it a couple of times, and they were MORTIFIED.
