Did anyone here do any of these things? Sugar sandwiches?

I'll tell you what happened to the child that used to be me. I grew up and found out that the book I thought was more special than any other and that had the most courageous people in it and could help me more than any thing in the world get close to God was a fraud.

Whatever happened? Shit.

I'm still that same child who loves comics and video games and enjoys laughing at the silly things in life.

Also cartoons. Love cartoons still.

Leaving Mormonism cured me of most of the guilt and self-loathing I had carried around since I was 8 years old.

Yep--I know. Yuck! I hate to go back to the same old, same old, but I lost all my innocence the day my boyfriend told me he was gay. I even remember thinking, "I'm not my mom's little girl anymore."

The turmoil and loss of hope was vast and it took me about 25 years to get over what happened that day--if I am over it.

What angers me the most about the church (I never thought the BofM was the most special book--I tried, but never could buy into that)--is that they put my kids, my ex, and I through this hell and couldn't care less about doing it--when NONE OF IT ever had to happen.

Chasing after blue jean girls
Along the creek in June
Drinking stolen beer in cars
Beneath a harvest moon

Dribbling orange basketballs
On driveways in the heat
Throwing eggs from pickup trucks
To terrorize the street

There was no consequence
To youthful arrogance

But now the time is done
And so the child is gone

Still a lot the child left in me. Enjoy the simple things,,love to hike in the mountains,,fish,,cook over an open fire,,build model ships and airplanes. Had a good loving family and good childhood.
