Russel Pearce recall election (not political)

I live in Mesa, AZ. Russell Pearce is a state senator up for recall in Nov (you may recognize the name from our famous (or shall I say infamous) SB 1070 immigration bill. He is specifically from my district - LD 18. I know a lot of players in this saga.

Pearce and his opponent, Jerry Lewis, are having a debate Oct 6 and the Mormons on my FB are all in a tizzy over this situation. It's been really entertaining to watch.

Jerry Lewis is also a conservative Mormon. Oh crap. The big issue seems to be which one more closely aligns themselves with the church's recent stance on illegal immigration.

So funny. It would be so much easier for them if the other guy wasn't a conservative Mormon. No thinking necessary! But they are all freaking out and it's really funny to me.
