Nothing said about shooting over their heads, however.

They "raised the bar" to weed out the less valiant, but now they're back to pressuring everyone to go. This while they're consolidating missions and cutting back on mission expenses. Thank the Lord for His Anointed Consistent Church Leaders.

LDS, Inc. has squandered its wealth dabbling in real estate while the market tanked, and is taking it out on its employees and members by laying off workers and expecting the overstretched, stressed out membership to take up the slack as volunteers.

The church asks way too much of its members compared to what little it gives back. If they have to wonder why they have stagnated, it's because the ROI for members has fallen considerably over the past few decades.

I want everyone to read this AND digest it....

"Mormon young men told to ‘get in the game,’ serve missions".

I will post the quote from the apostle again...

"Mormon young men TOLD to ‘get in the game,’ serve missions"

Aren't missions a CALLING???...meaning no MAN on earth can DEMAND that you do this but you are INSPIRED by God only?????

If this doesn't open eyes...I don't know what will..

Speaking from the giant Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Uchtdorf outlined the church’s mandate to help those members and others who are suffering.

"They are hungry, stretched financially, and struggling with all manner of physical, emotional and spiritual distress," Uchtdorf said. "They pray with all the energy of their souls for succor, for relief."

The charismatic leader warned his listeners not to shrug off such needs as someone else’s responsibility.

(because thats the approach strictly reserved for the chuch in these instances)

I always felt okay about Uchtdorf, but calling him "charismatic" is a stretch. It only works in comparison to the average general authority.

(On a side note, I hate how the need to believe in the church forces people to stretch the definitions of words beyond any sane boundary. A general authority could give a talk about paint drying and someone would claim it was inspired afterwards.)
