Of course it's psychologically damaging cult.

One must toe the line, or suffer the consequences.

And yes, it's TOE the line, not tow - you don't pull it, you put your toes on it. Honestly, look it up, folks.

BUT -
Hide what you tell people about the church, just the "normal" stuff
Lie about it with aplomb
Don't let your kids go on a date until they're 16
No R rated movies, even for adults
Secretive sealings masquerading as weddings
Not being up front with members about their sealings until they actually do it, thereby springing it on them - Cover up that pretty wedding dress, and just wait until you see your groom's getup! Don't laugh at how goofy you both look. It's sacred, not stupid.
Don't read anything not church-approved.
Gotta wear the special underwear. Sure other religions have their special clothes, but they're not underwear! They don't hide them under their clothes and wear them against their (ahem) genitals. It's kinky. But JS was into that.
Their history is hidden from and lied about by and to the members.
Don't associate with those who've left the group.
If you're at a party, and you see someone drinking wine, leave it right away, in a righteous huff, thereby avoiding in the most public way possible the appearance of evil.
Remind others at every possible turn that you're Mormon.
When talking with nonmembers at non-religious events, suddenly start talking with other member(s) about church related things, thereby shutting out nonmembers.

Oh, the list goes on and on. Mormons think this is normal. It's so not. It's cultic.

"If you put one toe over this line I'll whop you!"?
