about former punk rocker Arthur Kane of the New York Dolls who converted to Mormonism after suffering brain damage in suicide attempt?

From reading the wiki entry it seems like LDS Inc is making a concious decision to recruit and prey on people with severe mental issues.

A friend bought me this movie as a gift. It was sweet - very unlike any other Mormon related movie. It was nice to see Arthur Kane's reunion performance. The only thing that bothered me is that several Mormons I know claim Arthur Kane died just as he was on the verge of a comeback so Heavenly Father called him home, knowing that a comeback would tempt him too much - that he would return to his former wild lifestyle so to protect the covenants Kane made, Heavenly Father had him die instead. Mormon-think at it's weirdest.

That is delusional thinking. I am constantly amazed that any spin is acceptable to mormon sheeple. I guess it is the fact that they are indoctrinated to never question anything........

But for me it was just desperately sad. The guy clearly had damaged his brain permanently, and the church was just a crutch to sobriety, and they gave him empty busywork at the genealogy library. He was just a step away from being a stockboy at the Deseret Industries, IMHO.
