for some reason the bishop e mailed me information about a porn addict recovery group

i have never been interested in porn and even if was it is none of their business

the only thing i do is try to shut down sites trying to commit crimes and trying to shut down a illegal porn site or a scam site is not the same thing as being addicted or even wanting to look at it - just the law needs certain things done to shut it down and is definately not the same thing

and the bishop is insane when trying to tell disabled people what to do like ignore to cure

why would a bishop think you have a addiction when all you are doing is working under what demands the law has to shut down a web page - moron

I think you should respond by sending him information on addiction recovery groups - alcoholics anonymous, overeaters anonymous, narcotics anonymous.

I don't suffer from a porn addiction. I rather enjoy it.

He assumes and "FEELS the SPIRIT" telling him that you might be struggling with some natural urges and temptations to get off on porn since you're exposed to it while shutting down the more horrific and illegal sites. In his mind he thinks he's trying to help. Where he failed is to not assume and maybe try asking or plain and simply not to invade someone else's space like that. What goes on behind someone else's closed doors when they're not at church, work or school or in other's company, is they're own business.

If someone really had an addiction of any sort, if they wanted to change for their own health, they'd do that for themselves if they can be strong enough to want to make that change. Some people have a harder time snapping out of different addictions than others. Sometimes people just need to get what ever they're struggling with, all out of their system, even if it means going through the motions of the addiction they were once held back from experiencing against their own will. Everyone's got to make their own choices in life, whether it's good or not so good in order to learn their own lessons.

I have to smile, because I work on another forum that goes after terrorist groups that use the internet. We started off with Islamic extremist, and they are our bread and butter, but we occasionally go after other groups as well. In all my time watching their recruitment videos, I have never once said to myself, "You know what, I kind of what to go blow myself up on a bus full of Jews." I just don't have it in me to do stuff like that. I am sure you don't have it in you to be a pervert.

Of course the church does not see it that way. They see sin and temptation as these things that come from outside forces. Demons whispering in your ears, and evil businessmen with add campaigns with scantly clad women selling beer. To him it makes sense that working for a group that shuts down illegal porn sights would make you fall prey to it.

you all should search by author and read some of my other posts

i really think of being a ex mormon since finding the truth of what they want from me but get the push to not officially quit - i have found true teaching of jesus is more what dharma buddhism is and if joseph smith is supposed to be bringing back the church of jesus then jesus is the first prophet not him and i kind of get a push like i belong at least going to the mormon stuff to be used to remind people of this

From reading other posts it sounds like these "addiction" groups are the new cash cow in Mormondum.

Dear Bishop,

Thank you for the link on porn addiction. I'm glad you were able to get the help you needed for your problem and understand that you want to recommend to your friends this recovery group helped you through your darkest hour. I don't struggle with this pornography problem myself, but I'm glad you felt comfortable enough with me to share your problems. Although I cannot use this group myself, I will be certain to spread the message to other ward members that this is the group that the bishop said helped him with his porn addiction. Thanks again.

My dad used to work with the police in catching child pornographers. Until he got called into the bishops office and told that looking at it even in that setting was a sin, this was one of the first moments I realized the church was crazy.

They don't want any Mormons to get caught. That would end up in the papers! Bad, very bad for Mitt and the church.

do not know if you read origional post but definately not interested in porn of any kind

only thing is under buddhist is the do what is good for all and if a person is going around hurting others and committing crimes some person must stop it

around where i am there is the ever internet involved excuse of it is too hard and random things to not care so people have to do what they are supposed to do but not care to do their job or the criminals will never be stopped
