After work today as I was trying to help my 9 year old daughter finish her homework, the missionaries showed up on my door step looking for me. After a very brief conversation in which I got slightly irritated, I slammed the door & stomped back into the house.

My daughter asked who was at the door. I told her it was mormon missionaries.

She rolled her eyes and said, "Oh, so salesmen."

Wow...What did the missionaries say that had you slam the door in their faces?

I always try to be civil when dealing with strangers. Unfortunately, that allows missionaries to think they are making headway, so I've learned you just have to cut them off quickly.

Missionairies: "We're looking for Birdie"
Me: "May I ask why?"
Missionairies: "You are on the ward rosters"
Me: "I find that strange as I have not attended your church in nearly 20 years. I'm sorry -- I'm really busy...."

Birdie starts to politely shut the door. At this point, a normal person would turn around and leave. Not LDS missionairies!

Missionary, attempting to insert himself in my doorframe, "Excuse me! Excuse me! Is there any reason why you no longer attend?"

Me: "Yes there is. I don't believe any of it. Goodbye!"

At this point I firmly start to shut the door, causing the missionary to jump out of the way and it slams shut.

Missionary intrusion just irritates me.

They aren't selling anything. They just want 10% of your income.
