Husband gets to know wife's secret name. So when does he hear it? Does he ask? I have never heard that it is a part of the sealing and my husband doesn't remember. He just remembers thinking it was a stupid name, Nora(H) and how he didnt like it.And how he wishes it wasnt stuck in his memory. Ha.

Traditionally it happens when you go through the veil for the first time. Your husband to be is the "Lord" on the other side of the veil that you whisper your name to.

Women are told that they can whisper the name to their husband if needed in the Celestial room if he forgets it or doesn't know it.

You mean the man knows the woman's name but the woman doesnt know the man's?

Yes.

Goodbye.

All she needs to know is "Lord"...

There is also that little thing where the man promises to obey god while the women promises to obey the man. They cleaned up the language a little post 1990 to say as the man hearkens to God, but it's still really bad.

Yes, the husband hears his wife speak it while he plays the Lord through the veil. Traditionally the husband later will use this name to call forth his deceased wife in the resurrection. However, this doctrine kind of breaks down when men marry women who have already been endowed. Thus it is only taught in hushed circles, and as a sort of speculation.

In reality, every woman in the world who went through the temple on that day knows her new name because they've all receive the exact same one. Every worker also knows the name. The only people in the place that don't know her name are the men who carefully tried not to listen too hard to the women whispering it, sometimes not too softly, just a few feet away.

I don't think the guy calling his wife forth in the resurrection is very hushed - it's pretty commonly known in temple attenders IMO.

Also, think about how much time JS & BY are going to take, remembering & calling all those wives' names. What if they call the wrong one? Or if two wives have the same name?

AND THEN......

When they get to their assigned planets, those wives will probably still be fighting. "Tonight is MY night, dear SisterGoddess Sarah!" "Don't be silly, SisterGoddess Mary. You had him all last millennium."

C'mon you know polyandry is the true law of the Celestial Kingdom - JS just hadn't quite gotten to the point of revealing it yet. It's just going to be a big huge eternal orgy where everyone is "sealed" to everyone else.
