Perhaps that has something to do with the attitude of some Mormon royalty? Maybe some still believe it? Fits in well with the concept of dominionism, and some Masonic beliefs--

Of course they still believe it. That's why they love to get those "second anointings"--to confirm just how special Christ's descendants really are. And of course to justify why they hold the lion's share of the "high callings" in TSCC, and also of the wealth in the Mt. West from the 19th century thefts of their ancestors.
