Not sure if any of Joseph's wives were a maid. But the ignorance and name calling of the lds commenters is really something!

After reading a few of the comments, I had to leave it. I was afraid that amount of ignorance, all in one place, could be catching

Crickey Dick. A theme coming out was that it was an Obama conspiracy to diss Romney. ???. Are they not looking around at their fellow crazy evangelical buddies. Some serious cog-dis is going on here.

Do you remember how nice Rick, Ron and Newt played during the primaries? Neither do most Romney supporters.

One commenter said:
"People should never criticize someone's religion or beliefs for this very reason, 99.9% of the time they aren't even going to know the truth about that person's religion. As long as they aren't breaking any laws, live your life and let them live theirs!"

I disagree. Sweeping things under the rug, looking the other way, ignoring the elephant in the room etc. -- these things are not healthy. We need to get over the notion that criticizing religion is taboo. It's a free society, and we have freedom of speech. No topic should be off limits. And if errors are made on either side, there is freedom to rebut those errors. To imply that 99.9% of the time people aren't going to know the truth about another person's religion is an error in itself. Something like that is impossible to quantify, but 99.9% (almost never) is absurd. And what does the poster mean by "truth"? Truth to a Mormon is very different than truth to someone who actually studies and accepts the evidence.

Oh man.

"REALLY! Let me ask this one question, who on earth would go to that much effort to cover up "doing the maid". Think about it, would anyone on earth write books (none of which say it's ok to "do the maid"), Find places to meet, find other people to join your religion, suffer persecution, and end up being lynched just to cover up an affair? Think about it people. Most people caught in an affair don't put forth that much effort.... who would?"

Well, you heard him, mormonism is true!
