Hahaha yeah he's a pop singer. Don't get me wrong, the kid can hit a note, but with songs like "One Less Lonely Girl", "Baby" and "Boyfriend" we Canadians try and pretend like he doesn't exist...we like to showcase our true stars like Mike Meyers, Jim Carrey, Sidney Crosby and Celine Dion! (Okay Celine's a little crazy but she's got pipes!)
He's just the latest teeny-bopper fad. He has a good voice although it is rather high pitched - he's been big for a few years so he's probably on the tail end of his popularity. One interesting thing about him is that he entered some singing contest, go second, posted it on youtube and then got "discovered" from his youtube video.
As an American, I heard no end to the bragging about how Canada became independent without bloodshed. Everyone knew I was a "Yank" and they kept their distance in a lot of ways.
They also picked at me non-stop about Vietnam, racial unrest and our stupid political system.
The only thing I could say in reply was, "Why do 99% of you live so close to the US border?"
Bieber is a delight compared to those viscious HS friends of mine.
It was a tough time to be a HS student, gay, American & Mormon. I never felt so alone.
