I have been lurking for a long time here.I send my e-mail resignation the beginning of May with the did they read it attached to it. The e-mail was never opened. Sent another one two weeks later, and it wasn't opened either. So today I am sending the letter and going all out-notarized, delivery confirmation, etc. It better work this time!

Thanks for that confirmation that they are ignoring email resignations.

Relying on the USPS to deliver through the method you resorted to is fool-proof. You will, however, first get a response attempting to bounce you back at local representatives of the church. You will have to respond firmly in the negative to that one if you don't want to deal with the locals.

Best wishes.

It'd be handy to have a record of the exact address in case others have a similar problem.

I was very surprised that they would accept emails at all. The change is undoubtedly an attempt to slow down the out of zion migration of former tbms.

Sounds like your email had an attachment. That might have been the problem, especially if that attachment ran a program. OS security software normally warns about that before opening the email and asks the user for permission before proceeding.

I'm just a little leery of claiming they don't process emails anymore based on a single data point. Or even two data points. There are plenty of other possibilities that should be eliminated first. Other people's resignations seem to be going through.

I've always like resigning by letter anyway. You can really butcher the address, and the USPS will still get it delivered. Besides, I like the feeling of having my real live signature on a piece of paper.

Yeah, I'm old, and I hate texting too. :)
