A lot of feel-good, new-agey, ego-consoling (mis)interpretations of it out there...

...But check out http://www.circleofa.org for a very pure teaching of it.

It is one of the most challenging paths--not difficult in the conventional sense (i.e., difficult for the ego), but in the sense that we are not our egos, the pervasive body/individual-self identity that we take ourselves to be and that we're socialized into believing. In that sense, it challenges every usual turn of mind.

Try all things and hold fast to that which is good.

If it brings you closer to God, you found something.

I recently read "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and felt the spirit as much as if I'd read from the BOM. You have to take inspiration where you can get it.
