received a letter or other indication it was processed, where can they go to find out? This would have taken place in the 1970s in California. I need the information for someone who was only told he would be ex'd but never had any other information given to him. He just stopped attending. Now he is wondering.

I'm not sure where to go to find such information.
Thanks in advance. Such a strange request from someone who wants to make sure they are not a member anymore.

Maybe the current political climate has something to do with his question.

You might have him try the Member Records department.

Member Records Division, LDS Church
50 E North Temple Rm 1372
SLC UT 84150-5310

801-240-2053 - Phone
801-240-1565 - Fax
1-800-453-3860 ext 22053 - Toll Free
msr-confrec@ldschurch.org

Warn him that if he has not been excommunicated, the church will likely ask for his current address, and that he should not give it to them unless/until he is prepared to resign.
