I know... That's why I come here... It's a particularly toxic upbringing; my dad hasn't believed for around 60 years and my mother never really did (both are still on church rolls). And yet the family still has its share of dysfunction.

I see men who lord it over women regard them as servants, and part of me is admittedly envious (I'm not responsible for the my thoughts or feelings, only my actions), and yet I greatly admire independent women and am attracted to them. It still gets problematic... Sometimes I think the ex-Mormon existence resembles a Picasso painting..

Is it true that if the name of the day is your own given name, that they will give you Adam or Eve as a default?

ie: Mary goes through for her own endowments and the name of the day happens to be Mary, so she gets "Eve" instead

True...I was a Los Angeles temple ordinance worker from 2004-2005

Eve is also a regular rotation name since my real name is Robin...not in the Bible or BofM.

If Eve is in the normal name rotation.... and I went to the temple on Eve day... and my real name is Eve... what name would they give me? Or is that scenario even possible?

It probably is if you're really lucky. I think I'd pay money to see how that plays out. Lol

I'm more than happy to share, but on second thought I should probably share this with my wife first, since I know her's but she doesn't know mine....

Mine was Esther as well. However, the date was July of 2000 in Dallas.

Is it bad that I don't remember mine? I only went through the temple once besides my own endowment, and it was just a month or so after, and while I remember both names, I don't actually remember which one was mine.

When I was waiting in the dressing room, to walk into the photo-booth like curtain area and learn my new name, I heard the most bizarre and unearthly voice coming from inside. Spooked my out a little bit. Turned out the temple worker had a tracheotomy.

One of the hottest ladies on RFM gave me hers (she's divorced), and no way, no how, am I going to give it out...

Just in case in the church is true...

I have no idea what my name was. I only went through once, for my own endowment (SL, 1979?)

Geeeeze, after all this time I still can't bring myself to say the names. What a crazy life it all was, but maybe I'll be able to post it next time you have a shout out.
