I was told about by a reliable source a while back about a Canadian TBM who crossed the border into the US to go work at the temple, something this elderly couple did regularly. When the US customs guy asked him what his purpose of travel was, he responded "We're going to work for the dead". This is no joke, he said that. I imagine they were about to bring out the rubber gloves as they probably should have. He did get hauled in for secondary examination, but they managed to bring over another US customs guard who was himself LDS and understood the context of the guy's statement. He apparently whipped him into shape and then let them through, but can you believe the arrogance of this stupid man?

There's another thing to add to the list of things mormons shouldn't say in public.

"We're going to work for the dead."

Umm, doing what? Marrying them and baptizing them.

Don't you just envision those little old people out at the local cemetery with a backhoe?

Anyone who doesnt know about this creepy mormon practice would probably imagine them digging up dead bodies and saying, "Now... KISS!"

God... all people need a class in how to cross the border. There are so many seemingly innocuous situations that can trigger an incident.

Keep it direct, keep it simple, no innuendo, no jokes, NO JOKES, look them in the eye, don't be vague, addresses, dates, and if they seem to get aggressive, bend over and take it. The MOMENT you get flippant back, you're day is about to get f****d.

they were returning into MN and one teenager made a flippant remark. The adults shut that down REAL quick.
