a false sense of security as a tactic

i was updating the description of one of my motivator art images on flickr just now and i pasted in a link to a relevant scripture and i used the lds scriptures, but then i thought "what am i doing? why would i want to drive traffic to lds.org?"

then i got to thinking, what if driving traffic to their website (i have no fear of anyone converting), inflating their statistics, actually gives the church a false sense of security and keeps them out of touch with reality--that people are actually leaving "in droves"?
